We run our courses in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Or at your own office by prior arrangement.
The training is conducted at the Pennyfarthing Hotel and is an ideal location for our training courses. The meeting room has Wi-Fi and free parking and is located in Berkhamsted town centre.
We keep our groups small to ensure you get the best from your training.
We offer three levels of WordPress Training courses, each conducted over a one day period. A free book is provided with each of our courses with further reference material, appropriate to the course level.
Do you want to build your own website? Then our one day Level 1 WordPress traning course is for you. By the end of the day you will have created your own website!
Our WordPress training courses are run in the picturesque market town of Berkhamsted, a great backdrop to take you away from your desk and help you focus on the day’s training. And just 35 mins from London Euston. A walk along the Canal at lunch time is just a bonus! We are also happy to run a training day or course at your office by prior arrangement.
Level 1 – 1 Day Course
An introduction to creating websites using WordPress : Build your own website using WordPress in a day!
This course is aimed at beginners. Experience of using a computer and the internet is required, but no prior knowledge of Web Design or WordPress is needed.Included in the cost of the course is a Domain name (.COM or .CO.UK with a year’s registration) and a year’s web hosting for your new wordpress website. We also provide you with a free book about using WordPress to back up your training.
The Course covers the following:
WordPress installation and initial set-up.
Branding your website.
Adding pages and content.
Uploading an image gallery.
Creating a navigation menu with drop-down menu option.
Adding a plug-in contact form.
This is an overview and each section above is broken down into steps.
By the end of this course you will have created your own website! And because we keep our groups nice and small you can request we cover anything you would like to include specifically on your website and we will include it in the days programme. Level 2 – 1 Day Course
Take your WordPress Website to the next level!
This course is aimed at deligates with some basic WordPress or Web Design experience looking to learn more about using WordPress.
Experience of using a self hosted wordpress website or successful completion of our Level 1 course is an advantage.
Note Level 1 and Level 2 courses can be booked as a two day course. A 10% discount is applied for booking both courses together.
The Course covers the following:
Upgrading your website with a professional theme.
Setting up your new theme and adding your own graphics or images to the design.
Adding a Search Engine Optimisation plug-in to your site and setting it up.
Adding a blog page and starting to blog on your website.
Adding and choosing widgets and plug-ins.
Adding your own branding to the wordpress log-in page and admin area.
How to Customise your site theme using CSS.

Using WordPress as a Content Management System
This course is aimed at employers who have a WordPress based website and would like to gain a more in depth knowledge of how to update their website.
The Course covers the following:
An Introduction to how WordPress works and its features.
Adding pages and content.
Uploading an image gallery.
Ordering and updating the menu navigation.
Styling page content with headings, text colour and layout.
Adding hyperlinks to other pages and external websites.
An Introduction to Search Engine Optimisation in relation to adding web content.
